Friday, June 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Due to inclement weather, the Bloomsday Festival is being moved to the rain location at Trinity Memorial Church at 2212 Spruce Street
Every year, the world celebrates Bloomsday on June 16, the day that James Joyce’s Ulysses is set in 1904. Nowhere celebrates quite like the Rosenbach, home of Joyce’s manuscript. Bloomsday is a day-long public reading with musical performances that bring the epic novel to life. Joyce enthusiasts and novices alike can drop by any time to listen to the reading, enjoy free admission to the Rosenbach, and relax in the beer garden with a special Bloomsday brew from our partners at Attic Brewing Company.
The Rosenbach will still be open for free tours of the Museum and Library between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. with Gallery Talks at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m. led by the curators of our new exhibition Succession: Why Presidential History Matters Now.
Livestream of the festival begins at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 16

The Bloomsday Festival and programs are made possible by our generous sponsors!
Sláinte® Irish Whiskey, The Consulate General of Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme, Lenore Steiner and Perry Lerner, James Conmy, Alix Gerz and George Matysik, and the South Jersey Celtic Society.
Sláinte is excited to sponsor this year’s Bloomsday Festival, honoring Irish writer James Joyce with a fantastic array of musical performances. Sláinte® is a wonderfully balanced, versatile Irish Whiskey distilled on the Emerald Isle. Notes of smooth pepper warmth, ripe banana and toast gives way to vanilla, pastry and warm spice for the perfect finish. It’s a start-your-night or end your-night whiskey. Sláinte (slahn-cha) is a wonderful Irish expression used as a toast, meaning “Cheers!”
