Of all the books in his massive collection, Don Quixote was one of our founder’s favorites. Dr. Rosenbach collected many editions and significant artwork of Cervantes’s “Ingenius Gentleman.” In this virtual tour we’ll explore the ways that Don Quixote has been imagined and illustrated over centuries, through prints by notable artists like Salvador Dalí and original drawings by Gustave Doré and Honoré Daumier. Discover depictions of the questing Don, his companion Sancho Panza, and his noble steed Rocinanante from shortly after the heroic entry of Cervantes’s hero onto the field of literature, and through the centuries beyond.
