Course Description
This five-week poetry course welcomes all experience levels. Each week, we will approach the topic of “the poetic image” with a new framework, reading and discussing a wide range of examples , and then writing our own poem drafts using writing prompts . In the fifth week, participants will have the chance to share a poem draft they’ve written during our time together, for encouraging feedback. Whether this is the first poetry course you’ve ever taken or your 50th , you’ll better understand the ways that language and imagery inform each other, historically and in a contemporary context.
