Bloomsday Festival 2014
Leopold Bloom’s odyssey through Dublin on June 16, 1904 serves as the centerpiece of our annual Bloomsday celebration, with all-day public readings of Ulysses stretching across Philadelphia to mark the occasion. But the festivities don’t stop there! We have expanded Bloomsday into a weeklong festival, with events ranging from a fun-filled Ulysses- themed Pub Quiz to an author event at the Free Library of Philadelphia, our sister institution. There is something happening to get anyone and everyone into the Joycean spirit.
Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Bloomsday Meets the Bard
Bloomsday is one of the Rosenbach’s most treasured traditions. As the home of James Joyce’s manuscript for Ulysses, each year we host a celebration of this incredible work of modern literature. For 2014, Bloomsday meets the Bard, with an exciting new exhibition highlighting Shakespeare’s influence and presence in Ulysses, and much, much more.
