Please note: From January through March, 2025, the east and west libraries will be closed as they undergo renovations to their lighting systems that will allow for greater public enjoyment, and aid in preservation, for decades to come. While research appointments are available during this period, some of the Rosenbach’s collections will be inaccessible. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please submit a research appointment request and the Collections staff will assist you with planning.
The Rosenbach makes its library and fine and decorative arts collections available for research by anyone. While approximately half of our researchers are “traditional scholars”, academic faculty, and graduate students, we also welcome younger students and their teachers, artists, writers, librarians, collectors, curators, dealers, and others with inquiring minds.
The Reading Room is open during the following hours:
- Thursdays: 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Fridays: 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The reading room is closed for lunch each day from 12:30 p.m.-1:15 p.m. The Rosenbach is also closed on all national holidays.
Before making an appointment, please be sure to review the research policies page. Please note that you must make an appointment in order to reserve the reading room during the available hours. If more than one person is to be included in the visit, please fill out a separate form for each. Please note that submitting this form does not guarantee an appointment. All requests must be scheduled and confirmed by the staff.
