This series has ended but you can watch all the past episodes here.

The Rosenbach’s new biblioventure in the Sundays With series will be Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. Join us for a deep-dive into this classic novel for 30 weeks beginning September 19. Every Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m., host Edward G. Pettit and a series of cohosts will cover a chapter or two of Brontë’s novel with a conversational annotation and discussion. Together we’ll examine why and how Jane Eyre remains such a fascinating and rewarding book to read, study, and enjoy.

The Rosenbach holds a first edition of Jane Eyre in our collection, as well as Lewis Carroll’s own copy of the novel, a letter from Charlotte Brontë to her friend Ellen Nussey, and, most significantly, a manuscript in Charlotte’s hand of the preface she wrote for the second edition of Jane Eyre signed in her gender-obscuring early pseudonym “Currer Bell,” pictured. Over the 30 weeks of this series, we will share all of these items from our collection and enjoy spirited conversations with many experts on Jane Eyre and the Brontë family.

All are welcome to join us in this one-of-a-kind biblioventure live every Sunday (or watch the replay videos) beginning September 19, 2021 and running until April 10, 2022.

Register in advance to join this virtual program on Zoom and participate in the chat during the program. Join the Sundays with Jane Eyre Facebook group for further discussion between the episodes.
