Join us for a virtual reading of Shakespeare plays! Meetings are on Zoom and we read the plays as a group, round-robin style. After you register, you’ll receive email instructions with the Zoom link a week before the program.

The play we’ll read at this meeting is The Merry Wives of Windsor.

“Farewell, my hearts: I will to my honest knight

Falstaff, and drink canary with him.”

Love and cuckoldry. Folly and carousing. Shakespeare brings Sir John Falstaff, his ne’er do well knight from The Boar’s Head Tavern in London, into the countryside for a merry romp in pursuit of the Mistresses Page and Ford. A lighthearted play to bring in the Spring!

If you think you’d like to read aloud, please select the “I’d like to be a reader!” ticket; there are only fifteen available. Please bring your own copy of the play. If reader spots are sold out, you are welcome to join the waitlist by selecting the “reader waitlist.” If you would like to just listen to the readers, select the “listener” option. Only readers will be video enabled for this program.

All readers are responsible for their own internet connection and we request that all readers be video-enabled to participate. Please be ready with your own copy of the play to read.

Reading Shakespeare plays aloud not only offers a communal way to enjoy these great works but promotes a deeper understanding of Shakespeare’s poetry and wordplay. No acting experience is required to participate—just bring your voice and a copy of the play!

This event is completely free with advance registration. However, if you’d like to support free programming, please consider a donation, which you can include when you register.
