Description
Charles Dickens was a literary phenomenon in the 19th century. His first serial novel, The Pickwick Papers, rocketed him to literary fame, and he remained the most well-known and well-read author of his age. In his birthday month (born February 7, 1812), come see some of the choicest items in the Rosenbach’s Dickens collection, including manuscript pages from Pickwick, original serial parts from his first and last novels, personal letters, the first printing of A Christmas Carol, and even a lock of his hair. Edward G. Pettit, host of Pickwick Monthly, will be your guide as we celebrate the life and works of the inimitable Charles Dickens.
