Celebrate one of the great American authors and his most famous novel, which novelist Nathaniel Philbrick once said “is as close to being our American Bible as we have.” Our first annual reading of Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick will feature local literati reading selected passages and other nautical entertainments. We set sail at 4pm with colorful stories from Herman Melville’s life as a sailor and an introduction to his important, irreverent literary legacy. But Moby-Dick enthusiasts and novices alike are welcome to join us anytime during the event for readings, refreshments, and sea shanties performed by Jonathan Houlon.

This event is free, but advance registration is required to attend.
