Description

In this tour, we’ll connect historical treasures of the Rosenbach collections to the contemporary creative field of Book Arts. We’ll explore what makes a book–and what makes a book unique–by following the evolution of inspired books from a 17th-century volume that doesn’t have a front or back to a 20th-century artist book that offers a three-dimensional take on Rosenbach favorite, Ulysses. Discover the craftsmanship of books, from medieval illumination to letterpress printing, and how these techniques live on in new and exciting ways today.

Interested in making your own books? Check out our upcoming workshop Book Structures in Early America!
