With a growing collection that spans centuries and many cultural traditions, the beauty and art of the written word is here for you to explore and enjoy, in person or online, with loved ones or during private moments of reflection.

General Members

Support from our members helps sustain all aspects of the Rosenbach’s mission, from stewarding our priceless collection, to offering accessible and engaging programs and courses for people of all ages and backgrounds in Philadelphia and around the world. Our general members are supporters from the Langston Hughes level to the Charlotte Brontë level.

Delancey Society

The Delancey Society provides a critical base of support that impacts all aspects of the Rosenbach’s mission—from stewarding and exhibiting our peerless collection, to offering a diverse range of events and programs and comprehensive research services available to all. Members enjoy a robust calendar of events and programs in Philadelphia and beyond that offers exclusive access to our collection and the global rare book community.

Langston Hughes – $35 (fully tax deductible)

  • Open to all currently enrolled students and includes all Mary Shelley-level benefits. Please sign up using your institution’s email address.

Mary Shelley – $55 (fully tax deductible)

All general membership benefits, plus:

  • Unlimited free admission for one adult

  • 30% discount on Behind the Bookcase tours and Book Club Signature Programs

  • 10% discount on Rosenbach Courses

  • 10% discount in the Rosenbach shop

Abigail Adams – $80 (fully tax deductible)

All preceding benefits, plus:

  • Unlimited free admission for two adults and all children under the age of 18 living in the same household when accompanied by Abigail Adams member(s)

  • Opportunity to join the Young Friends of the Rosenbach, a social community of young professionals and literature lovers

Phillis Wheatley – $175 ($150 tax deductible)

All preceding benefits, plus:

  • Complimentary admission for two additional guests per visit when accompanied by Phillis Wheatley member(s), for a total of up to four adults per visit (please call to register).

  • Benefits at 1,300+ museums through the North American Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM)

  • 50% total discount on Behind the Bookcase tours and Book Club Signature Programs
